In an age where a cat can qualify in hypnosis, it is important to thoroughly research the credentials of your therapist.
Rest assured the Diploma in Clinical and Medical Hypnosis is nationally recognised and externally validated through the NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy) and the national awarding organisation NCFE (Northern Council for Further Education) to National Occupational Standards. Among the hundreds of training courses available, only a select few hold this accreditation.
In addition to these outstanding qualifications, we also engage in regular training, supervision and peer groups with a range of providers. We know we do not hold all the answers, and when necessary, we can recommend an appropriate source of help from experienced and qualified practitioners or relevant organisations.
Our Personal Journey
We have both found complementary medicine useful over the years to benefit our own health - from allergies to sporting injuries, anxiety to memory skills.
Paul Hewitt first used hypnosis to bring about a career change, and to manage dyslexia when he was diagnosed at university. More recently he has found electroacupuncture and acupressure massage useful in his recovery from serious injuries after a car crash in 2010. Having specialised in fertility and womens' health, Paul also holds a keen interest in pain management and injury recovery.
Beth Hewitt brings experience from teaching in secondary education into therapeutic work with children. An interest in complementary therapies began when she found that acupuncture relieved chronic back and knee pain, but also relieved stress. She trained in massage and reflexology to explore the link between body and mind. Beth also swears by cupping and ear candling for sore throat or cold symptoms.
Our philosophy
Your health is important to us, and we never underestimate the power of combining natural approaches, positive thinking and ancient principles. At the heart of all our therapies, is the link between the body and mind.
Pain and suffering, either physical or emotionally traumatic, affect the way we feel about our bodies, and alters our thoughts and mood.
At vulnerable times we can develop phobias or habits and negative, even destructive beliefs. These can limit our self-worth and essentially we miss out on a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle.
Illness and trauma are beyond control.
Suffering is a choice.
Our treatments are designed to lift the burden of suffering, but also address the root cause. This can happen on a range of levels, from dealing with physical symptoms, to exploring difficult experiences in the past and reducing any residual emotional impact.
By understanding how the body, our thoughts and behaviours are intrinsically linked, we can unlock negative patterns in our lives and discover potential we previously dare not even contemplate.
All suffering is learned.
Suffering can be unlearned.
