What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is the state between wake and sleep when we are deeply relaxed but fully aware. We naturally drift in and out of this several times per day.
Athletes use visualisation and monks use meditation to achieve this state of intense focus and mental space, also known as "trance".
How is hypnosis used?
Hypnosis is a psychological tool, which can access the emotional, subconsious mind. Traumatic events can distort memories and feelings to associate mundane tasks with irrational fears and habits.
Hypnotherapy challenges these learned behaviours and enables the subconsious to accept positive choices and desired change.
Is Hypnosis safe?
Yes. You cannot be forced to do anything against your will, be brainwashed or have memory removed. You can move freely and choose to come out of trance at any time.
Is it a quick fix?
Clients are often astounded at the difference they feel after their initial session. Hypnotherapy can only be as life-changing as you allow it to be.
Homework challenges, resources and self-hypnosis techniques support the new behaviours hypnosis can suggest, but this requires commitment from you.
There is no magic wand and some problems take time and energy to overcome.
Are all therapists alike?
No. We go beyond the limits of prescribed scripts and hypnotic relaxation. Our comprehensive approach explores your issue using cognitive behaviour therapy, stress management, emotional freedom technique and neuro-linguistic programming.
This combined approach enhances the effect of your hypnosis. We believe our training in Clinical and Medical Hypnotherapy sets us apart from many therapists in the area.
